| Download full programme (pdf) Programme Speakers Julia Casson Julia Casson is an independent consultant with over twenty years in-house experience as a company secretary in major international plcs, most recently as company secretary of Pearson plc. She advises on corporate governance best practice and company secretarial matters in a UK and international context and is EU policy advisor to the ICSA. Lorraine Young Lorraine Young, FCIS, is a freelance company secretarial consultant who provides advice to a wide range of client companies on corporate governance and company secretarial best practice. She has been a company secretary for almost 20 years and has extensive in-company and advisory experience in a range of company contexts. Jaya Gupta is a PSL counsel in the corporate department of Allen & Overy, who she has been with since 2000. She has extensive experience pf public and pricate M&A and general corporate work. Prior to joining A&O Jaya was a corporate associate at another City firm for six years. Mike Penry Mike Penry is an assistant director in the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and is project manager for implementation of the Companies Act 2006. He was a member of the Bill team which took the legislation through Parliament, with responsibility for policy areas on specific areas including directors' general duties and derivative claims. He previously had responsibility for other areas of company law and corporate governance, including the Directors' Remuneration Report Regulations 2002.
